Our Mission
Dedicated to providing orthopedic surgeries to persons of limited resources in under-developed countries. Present focus is on the project in Portoviejo, Ecuador. We hold several missions trips per year and invite volunteer medical personnel to participate as parts of these groups.
Who We Are
Thirty-eight years ago, Bob Eubanks and Paul Fellers, orthopedic surgeons from Fairhope, AL began traveling to underdeveloped countries to provide surgical interventions. Because of the need they encountered, they began making yearly trips overseas.
In 1999 BMM was formed as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Many countries were served. In 2000 BMM committed to long term work in Ecuador providing volunteer opportunities for health care professionals to offer medical care to those who would otherwise not be able to receive it. Working together through strong relationships with local physicians and professionals quality ongoing care is achieved.
We provide surgeries through teams of volunteer doctors who cover their own expenses. To cover the actual expenses associated with the surgeries, we seek sponsorships through donations and grants.
