BRAINY CAMPS ASSOCIATION

Brainy Camps Association (BCA) is a consortium of condition specific, medically managed, residential and family camps for children with chronic health conditions. We serve families and children with 10 chronic conditions including epilepsy, high functioning autism spectrum disorders, Tourette syndrome, heart disorders, type-1 diabetes, sickle cell anemia, cerebral palsy, neurofibromatosis, Down syndrome, and childhood obesity. Our mission is to create knowledgeable and supportive communities where the development of healthy, active lifestyles are encouraged, partnerships between patients and doctors are promoted, independence and self-management are fostered, education is offered and social connections are supported. Parents and family members receive much needed respite, while their children are medically managed by healthcare experts including physicians, physical and exercise therapists, psychologists, and art therapists. Family camps allow parents and siblings to actively participate with campers while promoting a healthy way of living.
