Carolina For The Kids Foundation

Carolina For the Kids Foundation, formerly known as UNC Dance Marathon, is the largest student-run nonprofit in North Carolina. The mission of the Carolina For the Kids Foundation is to provide major emotional, medical, and financial support for the patients and families served by NC Children's Hospital. We work to help the families with some of the costs of childhood illness not covered by insurance. CFTK has also committed to provide $2.5 million over the next five years to help build an off-site pediatric clinic in conjunction with NC's Children's Promise that will serve numerous children and families from North Carolina and beyond. Our work throughout the year culminates in the Dance Marathon, where more than 2,000 Carolina students will pledge to stand on their feet for 24 hours. With tired bodies and sore feet, this symbolic display of support gives participants a feel for what the children and families of NC Children's Hospital go through daily.
