Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) is to rebuild the lives of homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families.

Who We Are

CUCS' work centers on its initiatives to help individuals and families move out of homelessness. In addition to outreach services that place homeless adults into housing straight from the street, CUCS provides case management and support services at fifteen permanent supportive housing sites, operates a scattered site program and four shelters and transitional living centers for single adults, and manages a program to transition vulnerable families from shelter to permanent housing. CUCS addresses needs on three mutually-reinforcing levels: Direct Services, Training and Research & Evaluation.
