The Retreat

In 1991, The Community of Recovering People (CORP), a non-profit organization consisting of a group of dedicated professionals and recovered individuals, shared their commitment to creating a continuum of affordable, accessible and effective residential recovery services to help alcohol and drug dependent individuals recover. Today, this unique and effective recovery model has been duplicated both nationally and internationally. The Retreat is a supportive-educational environment rather than a clinical or medical program. Because we serve people who already know they have “the problem”, we don't directly provide assessment or clinical counseling services. We do, however, provide an intensive orientation to the solution of recovery embodied in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Retreat provides a continuum of recovery programs for individuals 18 and over. In-patient treatment costs are soaring. The average 28-day stay is between $25,000 and $50,000. The Retreat offers a 30-day program that includes a four-day stay in the family program for a relative or loved one and a 6-month online recovery program (through myRecovery.com) at a rate of $4,900. This is lifesaving for families without insurance, or who do not qualify for Rule 25 county funding. We are also a great option for those who want to preserve their anonymity as they go through a recovery program, or who are looking for an effective, affordable continuing care option. Besides our gender-specific residential programs, we offer two evening programs, a day program created especially to serve older adults struggling with addiction who are 55 and over, and the only residential family program in the state of MN. , The Retreat also has sober houses available in St Paul. To remove financial barriers to getting needed help, scholarship money is available. In fact, over 35% of our guests receive scholarship funds. Independent studies show The Retreat outcomes are at or above the national average. We are a 12 Step immersion program that effectively integrates those seeking recovery into the vibrant recovering community of the Twin Cities; helping them to establish a solid foundation for a lifetime of contented sobriety.
