Our Mission

Founded in 2000, Darkness to Light (D2L) a nonprofit organization committed to empowering people to prevent child sexual abuse. We are guided by our vision to create a world for children where child sexual abuse does not exist.

Who We Are

We work to end child sexual abuse by educating, raising awareness, sharing resources and through fostering a network of committed prevention advocates. Our evidence-informed approach makes us skilled at putting proven best practices into action with programming and resources that reach the widest audience possible. Through our flagship 2 hour online or facilitator lead Stewards of Children® program, Darkness to Light has trained over one million adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
