Our Mission

EDG provides microenterprise loans of up to $50,000 to entrepreneurs that would not be able to access loans from traditional financial institutions. Also offer car loans, assistance in filing income taxes, and a matched savings program.

Who We Are

EDG started as a project of our parent non-profit, which resettles refugees in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In 2001 EDG was spun off as a separate organization, serving low and moderate-income residents of the area, whether refugees or not. During our history, we have made over 2,000 loans for more than $20 million. In fiscal year 2014, we made over $2 million in microenterprise loans for the first time in our history.
