Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, Inc.

Founded in 1967 the Epilepsy Association of Central Florida (EACF) provides care to hundreds of economically disadvantaged individuals with epilepsy through medical services and case management. In addition we conduct nearly 300 community presentations to educate and prevent acquired forms of epilepsy. EACF also created and manages a international online community, epilepsy resource and support site www.EpilepsyU.com that reached nearly 1,000,000 world wide monthly. We are also one of the nation's leading educators on the prevention of Shaken Baby Impact Syndrome and resulting head trauma. Head injury is a leading cause of know epilepsy. We were founded by an adoptive mother of a child with epilepsy when there was nowhere to turn for information and support. Today we are one of the oldest, yet most progressive, non-profit epilepsy organizations in the world. Recently we founded EpilepsyStore.com as a social enterprize to support our programs and expand epilepsy awareness worldwide through "Shopping Purple for A Purpose" offering epilepsy awareness and supportive products.
