Our Mission

Our mission is to build up the Body of Christ; encourage obedience to Godâ€™s call in Romans 12: to give freely; encourage relational ministry; and bear witness to the God who can take our giftsâ€”however smallâ€”and use them for His purposes beyond what we can imagine. Finally, we seek to silence the lies of the enemy when he says, â€œyou canâ€™t afford it,â€ â€œyour gift wonâ€™t make a difference,â€ and â€œsomeone else will pick up the slack.â€

Who We Are

Travis was 17 when he moved from Montana to Manhattan. While he worked in the fashion industry, God was at work in his life. One Sunday at First Alliance Church, Travis listened as a missionary couple from India talked about their financial needs. Low on funds, Travis couldn't afford to become a $30-per-month supporter, but felt God calling him to give, just the same. That's when the missionary told a simple story about connecting with a friend; witnessing over a cup of coffee. God's voice was quiet, but clear: "I want you to buy those cups of coffee. Find a way." Travis obeyed, and since then, God has been growing in him a passion for relational giving. In 2012 Travis followed God's calling on his life and launched ForAFriend to support relational giving around the world.
