Our Mission

Girls’ LEAP (Lifetime Empowerment and Awareness Program) empowers girls and young women to value and champion their own safety and well-being. Girls' LEAP interrupts the cycle of violence by teaching girls that they have a right to be safe and how to defend themselves if necessary. We believe all girls deserve to grow up safe and free from violence – and that empowerment is violence prevention.

Who We Are

Girls' LEAP is the premier girls' empowerment and violence prevention organization in Greater Boston. We partner with community organizations and schools to deliver programs and workshops that couple self-defense and empowerment to girls aged 8-18 in Greater Boston. Girls' LEAP programs give girls the tools and assessment skills to keep themselves safe and free from violence. Our curriculum teaches physical safety skills and uses socio-emotional, reflective activities to develop boundary setting skills, violence de-escalation, self-esteem, courage, and explores healthy and unhealthy relationships. We empower girls to use their voices, and together learn life-long strategies to stay safe, both emotionally and physically.
