Our Mission

HomeAid Colorado is an integral part of the fight to end homelessness in Colorado. Our mission is to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. For more than a decade, we have developed, built and maintained homes, apartments, facilities and shelters to give Colorado’s homeless a place to call home and opportunity to build second chances.

Who We Are

HomeAid was founded in 1989 by the Orange County chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders. Since that time, HomeAid has expanded throughout the country and now has 15 chapters in 10 states. The organization allows homebuilders an opportunity to do what they do best (build homes) to help make a difference in the lives of homeless families and individuals. The Colorado chapter joined the HomeAid effort in 1999 and is making a notable impact on homelessness across the state. As of January 2013, HomeAid has built 50 housing units, with 364 beds, representing more than $4.1 million of in-kind contributions of labor and materials from the building industry to serve Colorado's homeless.
