HMEA is a leader in serving people with autism and special needs from ages 1 to 101 in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We work with children adults band their families to realize their potential and dreams.
Who We Are
HMEA is a nonprofit 501 c 3 organization supporting 4000 children and adults with developmental disabilities from 1 to 101, in 110 Massachusetts communities. Diagnoses including Autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy behavioral and intellectual disabilities. Most individuals have multiple disabilities, such as physical challenges, psychiatric and behavioral disorders in addition to their diagnosis of developmentally disabled.
HMEA believes in the “power of dreams.†People with disabilities have the same dreams as anyone else, of satisfying work, of strong and loving relationships, security and respect. Our mission is to help people realize their dreams and to become active and productive members of their community.
HMEA's 650 caring committed and competent divers staff come from over 30 countries worldwide and provide the highest quality of services for each individual, tailored to that individuals specific needs, abilities, interests and goals. Our accrediting organizations consistently give us the highest rankings and scores as a result of their in-depth surveys, reviews, observations and interviews of staff, individuals and families.
