Our Mission
We advocate, train and collaborate to protect the world's children. We work to make the world safer for children by eradicating child abduction, sexual abuse and exploitation.
Who We Are
For 20 years, ICMEC has worked around the world to advance child protection and safeguard children from abduction, sexual abuse and exploitation. We focus our work in three key areas:
ADVOCATING and proposing legislative changes in laws, treaties, and systems to protect children worldwide;
TRAINING law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, legal professionals, nongovernmental organizations, and government officials on investigation and responses to abduction, sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation cases.
COLLABORATING with various stakeholders around the world to develop and strengthen global response to missing and sexually exploited children; and
OUR WORK: Through four strategic program areas, ICMEC's is able to identify gaps in the global community's ability to properly protect children from abduction, exploitation and abuse and assemble the people, resources and tools needed to fill those gaps.
