Our Mission

The International Institute for Caring (IIC) works to change the lives of marginalized and underprivileged families in Africa to become self-sufficient and contributing members of their communities. We advocate for justice and human rights and facilitate access to education, mental health, and economic services, to those in need by connecting people to existing resources in the community. The services that we provide are free of charge and open to anyone with barriers to opportunities.

Who We Are

?International Institute for Caring (IIC) is a Charitable Minnesota Organization operating with a 501(c) (3) status. We seek to help families irrespective of race or nationality to live, work, and succeed with dignity, peace of mind, and self-sufficiency. Our services are open to all, including students, university graduates, women, youth, and people with mental and physical disabilities looking to become empowered and take control of their own lives. IIC was born in 2016 by a team of passionate and dedicated individuals who identified major setbacks to the progress of many developing nations in issues relating to education. justice/human rights, employment, and mental health. Basil Ajuo, Robert Rivera, Gerry Heurth, Ana Munro, and Michael Birchard founded the IIC because they either have experience with working with students from developing nations and know the difficulties and challenges they face. In response to a lack of adequate resources, IIC provides humanitarian services and raises awareness about the non-compliance of states with their international obligations. Like no other organization, IIC has taken the initiative to assist and promote education, justice/human rights, employment, and care for those with mental health/physical disabilities to make sure no one is left behind. Our education program begins at the primary to secondary levels and extends through the university, We also provide training to and promote community development in rural communities so that women can become empowered, feel inclusive, independent, and self employed. Unlike other organizations, we transform lives and give hope to those who think they have lost it all. We care for and develop the potential of students and the forgotten people who live in rural areas by promoting education and justice, providing social and heath services through our humanitarian services.
