Karuna Center For Peacebuilding

Karuna Center for Peacebuilding innovates approaches for transforming conflict across divides by supporting people in all sectors of society to discover their shared capacity for building peace. Through dialogue and collaborative projects, we work with local partners to heal the destructive divides that are left in the wake of violence and threaten future stability. Those who have been separated by war or injustice discover their common aspirations. By creating strategic multi-sector relationships, our local partners form alliances to advocate for policy changes that will ensure inclusive participation and prevent future violence. Our approach is always context specific. It develops new skills while building on local strengths and local culture. Since our founding in 1994, we have implemented multi-year peacebuilding programs and offered trainings and consultancies in over 25 conflict-affected countries. Working in partnership with in-country organizations, the Karuna Center leads programs specifically designed to develop local capacity to address ongoing challenges and to enhance a healthy civil society capable of supporting viable democratic institutions and sustainable economies. We offer training and peacebuilding programs in English, French, and Spanish.
