Our Mission

With Christ as our mentor, and sports as our platform, L.A.C.E.S. champions children to become future leaders. We work to create a sustainable, replicable model of community development using sports as a tool to reach at-risk youth and empower their local communities. One of the fundamental principles of the L.A.C.E.S. model relies on the full integration of local community leaders into all aspects of the organization.

Who We Are

L.A.C.E.S. began in Liberia in 2007 and for the first year and a half our founder, Seren Fryatt, worked behind the scenes in Liberia to support local staff in strategic planning, management training and developing the L.A.C.E.S. curriculum and structure. Since December 2008, L.A.C.E.S. in Liberia has been solely operated by locals and under their leadership, L.A.C.E.S. has transformed from an organization that not only impacts the lives of children but an organization that empowers parents and communities as well. Throughout this process, we have experienced many successes and learned many lessons that have made it possible for us to have a high impact on the lives of the people we serve. Currently, L.A.C.E.S. has expanded its reach to refugee children in the greater Washington, D.C. area and with the generous support of local leaders and communities, strives to help recently resettled youth adjust to living in the United States.
