Our Mission

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry provides groceries at no cost to low-income families and individuals in the Charlottesville area. We currently serve an estimated average of 6,000 individuals each month. We are the largest food pantry in the Charlottesville, and are able to provide a large proportion of fresh foods, such meat, dairy and produce.

Who We Are

Loaves & Fishes first began in 2004 as a grassroots volunteer effort of First United Methodist Church in downtown Charlottesville. In 2011, Loaves & Fishes incorporated as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Most recently we purchased and renovated a 6000-square-foot warehouse on Lambs Rd in Charlottesville to provide a permanent home for the Pantry.
