Headquartered in the SF Bay Area, we are working in rural South Sudan and the mountains of Haiti, forging ways for women & girls in extreme poverty to learn, connect & lead.

Who We Are

Mercy Beyond Borders (MBB) was launched in 2008 by Sister Marilyn Lacey to bring hope and opportunity to displaced women living in extreme poverty. We began by adopting the only all-girls primary school in South Sudan and quickly expanded into high school & university scholarships for young women, leadership development, women's literacy, women's small businesses, and advocacy for girls' education. We know that where women learn, women matter. Then everything changes! Join us. Be part of the change....
