NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR DRUG ENDANGERED CHILDREN

The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) exists to help make a difference in the lives of children who are in danger because their parents or caregivers use, manufacture, distribute, or possess illicit drugs or misuse other substances. Our mission is to break the cycle of abuse and neglect by empowering practitioners who work to transform the lives of these children. Formed in 2003 and incorporated in 2006 as a nonprofit charitable organization, we believe the best way to address the needs of drug endangered children is a coordinated approach that puts kids' needs first. We create and share educational tools and best practices, support state and tribal efforts to work with local communities, advocate for services and funding, raise public awareness, and partner with people and organizations who support our mission. National DEC has received grant funding and support for our mission from the US Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services Office, Bureau of Justice Assistance, and Office for Victims of Crime.
