Nepal Orphans Home, Inc.

Established in 2005, Nepal Orphans Home (NOH) is a charitable organization administered in North Carolina, with operations in Nepal. NOH has three children's homes, known locally as Papa’s Houses, and a college transition house for young adults all within a short walking distance of each other in Dhapasi in the Kathmandu Valley. Nearly half of the hundred children and adolescents provided for are former Kamlari girls rescued from indentured servitude. Volunteer Nepal, our affiliate volunteer program, draws talented, compassionate people of all ages from around the world and identifies placements throughout Nepal that will benefit from the volunteers’ time, energy, and skills. In 2013 Nepal Orphans Home established the Chelsea Education and Community Center, which provides academic enrichment, vocational and life skills training to Papa's House children and adult literacy classes to women nearby in the community. Nepal Orphans Home is listed on Guidestar, a leading source of information on U.S. non-profits, earning a GuideStar Exchange Seal, demonstrating its commitment to transparency.
