Our Mission

New Eyes for the Needy purchases new eyeglasses for poor children and adults in the United States and recycles donated glasses for distribution to indigent people in developing nations worldwide.

Who We Are

Operating with a small staff, New Eyes is powered by the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of 370 adult and student volunteers. Volunteers sort and test donated glasses and repackage them for distribution overseas. Volunteers acknowledge donations and manage publicity mailings. Volunteers provide administrative support. Volunteers sort, clean, price and sell donated jewelry and giftware in New Eyes' Fabulous Finds Re-Sale Boutique, which raises funds in support of the U.S. eyeglass voucher program. New Eyes relies mostly on individual donations with the help of foundation and corporate grants to fund the purchase of new eyeglasses for those in the United States who cannot afford them.
