We do this through empowerment, family strengthening, skill building, education and counseling.

Who We Are

Omni Youth Programs has over 35 years of experience successfully delivering alcohol, drug and violence prevention programs to youth and families in Sacramento County. We have delivered services in 38 Sacramento public schools, Juvenile Hall, foster agencies, low income apartment complexes, parks, faith-based center meeting rooms, and other community sites. All of our services are delivered in diverse community locations and adapted to the unique needs of each group we serve. We are currently funded by the county to train other organizations, schools, faith based organizations, probation and law enforcement groups, youth groups, and many, many others in teen and family prevention programs. The goal is to train greater numbers in the community to reach more teens and families to reduce underage drinking. We are doing this by offering free training in four model programs. These are: Families Matters is an in-home program to strengthen families with teens through interactive, engaging activities with support from a Prevention Educators. Teens in Action is a program to train teens to lead teen led groups for alcohol, violence and drug prevention. Active Parenting of Teens is a supportive program for parents of teens. Families in Action is a group family program to enhance cooperation, reduce conflicts and empower every family member. Past services from 1980-1990 included drug and AIDS prevention in juvenile hall, in-home youth and parent counseling, and high school teen mentoring of elementary age youth. 1990-2002 we conducted Omni Youth Connection - a free individual and small group counseling program for children. From 1990 - 2012 we provided P.A.S.A. - Peers Against Substance Abuse - a classroom drug and gang prevention program for high risk youth. In 2000 the Family In-Home Component was added to P.A.S.A. From 2003-2008 we implemented an after-school drug & violence prevention program for homeless middle school teens called LifeSkills. From 2003-2008 and 2012-2015 we conducted an evening family program for youth at risk of school expulsion or dropout, first time offenders, and families in the CPS system called Strengthening Families. In 2004 we began offering Parenting Workshops and officially changed our agency name to Omni Youth Programs (from Omni Programs). In 2006 we expanded P.A.S.A. to a 2 year program for all youth and families and made long term commitments to impact five neighborhoods. In 2008 we began professional trainings for After School Youth Supervisors and Yard Supervisors. In 2009 we held our first annual “Family Fun Fest”. In 2010 we began school-wide bullying prevention services.
