Orangutan Outreach
New York, New York
Our Mission
Orangutan Outreach protects orangutans in their native habitat while providing care for orphaned and displaced orangutans until they can be returned to their natural environment.
Who We Are
Orangutan Outreach was established in 2007 to bring attention to the crisis facing orangutans in the wild due to massive deforestation and the expansion of palm oil plantations into their rainforest home and raise funds to protect them.
Orangutan Outreach works with partner organizations in Borneo and Sumatra including SOCP, IAR, BOSF, COP and OIC to protect orangutans in the wild, rescue individuals who are most at risk from the destruction of their habitat, and care for orphaned and displaced orangutans until they can be safely returned to the wild.
Orangutan Outreach has been able to build a global grassroots network to help foster awareness of the plight of orangutans. By offering people everywhere the chance to get involved and do their part to help orangutans, Orangutan Outreach has brought renewed hope that together we can save the Red Apes.
