RAIN-CENTRAL MISSOURI INC

Rain-Central Missouri, Inc. was founded in November of 1992 by a group of socially concerned members of the Missouri United Methodist Church who saw a need for compassionate care for those with HIV. A board of twenty community leaders was formed and a group of volunteers recruited. It became the mission of Rain to “provide Central Missouri with HIV/AIDS prevention education, and compassionate care to individuals and families infected or affected with HIV/AIDS.” Volunteers were organized into “care teams” to provide support to people with AIDS.
