Our Mission

Through direct service youth programs and highly regarded training programs for adults, Ramapo works on behalf of children who face obstacles to learning, including children with special needs, enabling them to succeed in the classroom, at home, and in life. At the heart of our work is the conviction that all children seek the same things: to learn, feel valued, and experience success. Ramapo helps young people learn to align their behaviors with their aspirations.

Who We Are

Ramapo for Children is built on the simple belief that all people want to experience success. We work on behalf of society's most vulnerable children by providing the adults who work with them a toolbox for creating environments in which all children can be successful. Our training program serves over 300 schools and agencies, and more than 10,000 teachers, youth workers and families each year. Our year-round campus in Rhinebeck serves tens of thousands of visitors annually, including dozens of young adults transitioning to independence and over 550 children with special needs who attend our summer camp.
