SALEM FRIENDS OF FELINES

Salem Friends of Felines was founded a little over 11 years ago by a small group of women that saw a great need in the population of homeless, community cats. Their mission at that time was to spay and neuter every kitty they could humanely trap, and to also offer low cost Spay & Neuter services to the community for owned cats. Not long after they started their TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return) efforts they found that many of the kitties were human friendly and should really live as pampered house cats. They started keeping these kitties in their private homes and started getting the word out that they had adoptable kitties. Within months they were approached by a local pet supply location asking if they would like to place some of the adoptable kitties on site at the store. The ladies couldn't pass that offer up, so kitties started finding homes. The kitties were many, so the efforts had to grow, thus a building was found where even more kitties and adoptions could happen. Today Salem Friends of Felines adopts out over 1,000 cats and kittens each year! In fact we just celebrated our 10,000th adoption!!
