SEXUAL ASSAULT CRISIS CENTER OF EASTERN CONNECTICUT, INC

SACCEC serves Windham and New London Counties and the towns of Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield, Willington and Union with two offices: our main office in Willimantic and our sub office in New London. SACCEC strives to reduce added trauma to victims by providing immediate intervention services at the time of initial contact, whether the client calls the hotline directly, or a hospital or law enforcement agency requests our assistance. Certified counselors respond immediately to provide in-person support, advocacy and information, especially with regards to victim's rights and choices. Our counselors provide accompaniment and compassionate support during medical evidence collection exams and contacts with law enforcement investigators. Our 24-hour English and Spanish hotlines provide the community with access to these services, safety planning, information and a full range of referral resources. Crisis counselors accompany victims and their family members to the police departments and provide preparation and accompaniment throughout the court processes.
