St. Bernard Project

The key to SBP's programmatic success is its model - using volunteers and in-house skilled labor to eliminate the need for (and cost of) subcontractors. AmeriCorps members from all over the country serve as client case managers, volunteer coordinators and construction site supervisors, overseeing the labor of 10,000 volunteers each year, per location. SBP saves time and money by exercising direct control over labor and scheduling, which also allows us to create well-paying jobs for veterans, at-risk youth, recently incarcerated individuals, and other under- and unemployed residents.
