Baltimore, Maryland

Our Mission

The Success for All Foundation began almost 30 years ago at Johns Hopkins University, School of Education with a program of federally funded research led by Drs. Robert Slavin and Nancy Madden. Researched by over 30 institutions for more than two decades, Success for All has been found to increase reading and math achievement, cut the achievement gap between African Americans, Hispanic, and White students, and prepare teachers to support the needs of English learners. Low achievement in high-poverty schools does not have to be inevitable.

Who We Are

The Success for All Foundation's roots started at Johns Hopkins in the 1980's with a program of federally funded research led by Drs. Robert Slavin and Nancy Madden. The core research focused on cooperative-learning strategies designed to increase student engagement, motivation, and achievement. Classroom materials with embedded cooperative learning strategies were developed. The results were dramatic. Research proved that implementation of Success for All's programs led to an impressive increase in student achievement. The Foundation was established in 1998 to disseminate these research-proven strategies. The story of Success for All is one of relentless efforts by a remarkable group of developers, researchers, coaches, teachers, school leaders, and communities to place proven programs into schools ensuring success for all students.
