SUMMIT LAND CONSERVANCY

Park City, Utah

Our Mission

The Summit Land Conservancy, an accredited land trust, protects critical open spaces in and around Park City, Utah for recreation, wildlife, farming and ranching.

Who We Are

If you love the open views, the quiet trails and the wildlife of Park City, Utah then join the community helping to protect the special scenery that drew you here. Other western ski resort areas are surrounded by public lands, but Park City and Summit County's mountains and fields and river-fronts and agricultural lands are privately owned, imminently vulnerable to development and extremely expensive to protect. Since 2002, Summit Land Conservancy has been preserving the regional landscapes you cherish for future generations. You see the results of our work when you walk your dog in Round Valley, stroll past the McPolin Farmlands, ski the Empire Canyon area at Deer Valley Resort or fly fish the Weber River. The first accredited land trust in Utah, we protect over 3,000 acres of open space and are currently working to preserve an additional 2,200 acres of land. To foster conservation values in those who will carry on our work in the future, we offer a number of programs to get area residents out on the lands we protect; Hops Hunters offers summer hikes and Kids Outdoors aims to restore unstructured free nature play for local youth because it is quickly vanishing from children's lives.
