Who We Are

Founded in 1992, by Dr. Norbert Sander, the only NYC resident to ever win the NYC Marathon, the Armory Foundation returned the track where runners had competed since 1919 to the thousands of runners in New York and the tri-state area. Twenty three years later, the Armory is the home of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame, as well as Armory College Prep for students grades 6 through 12. The Armory hosts over 100 track & field events per year and welcomes hundreds of thousands of visits each year to its fabled track.
