Various humanitarian programs and projects in Vietnam; including volunteer medical teams each year.
Who We Are
Vets With A Mission was founded in 1989 by a group of Christian Vietnam veterans. Having served in the Vietnam War, these veterans wanted to continue to help the Vietnamese after the war. Their focus was assisting the Church and Christians, and in providing humanitarian assistance to all Vietnamese. To date, VWAM has taken over 2,000 volunteers and Vietnam vets back to Vietnam on seventy mission teams. Vets With A Mission has an office in Da Nang and Hue, and is a recognized by both the United States and Vietnam governments as an international non-governmental organization (INGO). VWAM has a "Certificate of Registration" from the Vietnamese government granting it operating permission. The organization has built over 40 clinics, other health facilities, and a school; renovated several orphanages and churches; sponsored over 60 heart operations through its Children's Heart Surgery Program; and promoted reconciliation between veterans on both sides of the war, the people of Vietnam and the United States.
