WE CARE FOOD PANTRY INC

Our programs are not limited to food. We also provide laundry detergent, diapers, baby products, shampoo, deodorant, feminine products, etc. Our countrywide networking has produced some unusual items that are able to donate to other agencies. Semi trucks hold 24 pallets and we are paying trucking costs for the whole truck. We partner with Lowe's and Citrus County Parks and Recreation at Christmas time to distribute fully decorated Christmas trees to people who cannot afford them. Every other month, we offer a free thrift store. We offer dental and medical care. We partner with the Health Department and they bring their dental and medical buses to Homosassa. Clients receive x-rays, fillings and extractions. Our volunteers qualify the clients and do all the intake paperwork for the Health Department. We have medical items that we lend out, like wheel chairs, walkers, etc. We are totally unfunded. We support ourselves through grants, fundraisers and generous people who believe in helping the less fortunate. In October we will be have on online auction. We constructed two, 1.2 million dollar warehouses with no Citrus County taxpayer money. Some of our donors include the Wal Mart Foundation. They gave us $60,000 for our 26' refrigerated truck and $30,000 for a fork lift. Publix Charities, Winn Dixie Foundation, Capital City Bank Foundation and Bank of America Foundation are all major contributors. We installed two very large freezers/coolers in our new warehouse. Both the freezer and the cooler can each hold 33 pallets of food. The freezers were paid for by a $100,000 USDA TEFAP Infrastructure grant.
