Our Mission

World T.E.A.M. brings adaptive and able-bodied athletes together by empowering, enabling and engaging individuals through inclusive athletic events. Since 1993, we have used athletics to challenge disabled men, women and children to accomplish goals they never thought possible. In all our events - whether mountain climbing, biking, white water rafting or many other sports - we include both disabled and able-bodied participants. World T.E.A.M. changes lives through sports.

Who We Are

Our non-profit organization was chartered in 1993 in North Carolina. Our events have been held throughout the United States and worldwide. Our events have included high profile activities such as our 1995 AXA World Ride on bicycles, our 1998 Vietnam Challenge bringing together veterans from both sides of the Vietnam War, our 2002 and 2003 Face of America rides from Ground Zero in New York to the Pentagon, our 2010 and 2012 Sea to Shining Sea rides and our growing annual Face of America bicycle and hand cycle ride to Gettysburg. World T.E.A.M. changes lives through sports. Our events team together athletes with disabilities with able-bodied athletes to create a team and foster cooperation and understanding. Our disabled athletes undertake remarkable challenges that change the way we think about disabilities and inspire both persons with disabilities and the public.
