Our Mission

Worldwide Endeavors (WWE) is a non-profit charitable organization established to help the less fortunate help themselves. Our goal is to help others improve their situations in a way that is self-sustaining. Currently , we are assisting projects in 4 countries: Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, and Zimbabwe. All current projects are Primary Schools (US grades K – 7) WWE has a Board of Directors that reviews applications for new projects and oversees all current projects and the management of the organization. Each project is represented by a Board member who serves as the U.S. Project Director for monitoring, fundraising, and reporting to the Board. Donations to Worldwide Endeavors should be directed to specific projects. Contributions are tax deductible under the U.S. IRS tax code, section 501(c) (3). World Wide Endeavors Mission Statement (Mar 2014) Our Vision (Why we do what we do) We believe in the fundamental worth of all human beings and the importance of each person achieving his or her full potential, no matter what their circumstances. Our Mission (What we do) We help the less fortunate help themselves, with a specific focus on education and health. Our Approach (How we do what we do) We respect our partners and listen to their goals. We work together and develop local leaders for sustainable projects. Who We Are

In his own words, Dr. Christopher Kigongo was born a peasant. His parents were rural Ugandan farmers with many children and little money, just like the people we reach out to today. He used to walk to school when things were going well on the farm, the weather was not too bad, and his parents were able to give him his school fees. When he was about ten years old, his father told him that the family had run out of money. Instead of going to school, Christopher was helping out at home. One day, Christopher was sent to buy supplies in a nearby town. There he saw his teacher and soccer coach. “Christopher, you must come back to school,” he said. “If you don't have the school fees, come anyway. You are a smart boy, and there is nothing for you to do here if you are not learning.” Along the way, his teachers helped Christopher to go on to secondary school and even to college. After earning his degree in medicine from Makerere University, Christopher became interested in policy as he worked in communities throughout Uganda and observed their problems. He served as Principal Health Educator at the Ministry of Health and earned his Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Today, he is a Clinical Trial Manager at Duke University. Christopher never forgot how the powerful words of one guiding educator propelled him through school to become a leader in medicine, public service, and education. Because he experienced how education is the key to progress for Ugandans and individuals around the world, he started ConnectAbaana to break down the common barriers to education. ConnectAbaana was brought under Worldwide Endeavors, a 501(c)(3) organization along with educational programs of one school each in Ghana, Zimbabwe and Kenya.
