The Turning Point is the only Rape Crisis Center in Collin County. We provide free services to anyone in need of assistance. OUR VISION is to deliver the highest quality of comprehensive treatment services for survivors of all forms of sexual violence and to set the standard for prevention education that promotes social change to end bullying, sexual harassment and sexual assault.

The Ten Thousand Villages store in Alexandria has been a fixture in Old Town since 1994, and our loyal customers have made us one of the most successful stores in the country, thus ensuring steady income and better lives for hundreds of artisans in the developing world. As we approach our 21th anniversary in 2015 we are building on that success to strengthen and deepen the fair trade connection in the national capital region. We completed a successful campaign and Alexandria became the first Fair Trade Town in Virginia as well as in the DC metro region. And, even more exciting, we are currently raising money to establish a second store in the District of Columbia! None of our success would be possible without the support of customers who are equally as passionate about fair trade, and we welcome each and every one of you to our store to see what fair trade can do. Violent Crime Victim Services seeks to provide services for victim/survivors of homicide. We endeavor to act as an advocate for these families by offering peer support groups, peer court support, crisis intervention, and peer-counseling. We strive to ensure that victims receive their constitutional rights, due dignity and respect, and have a meaningful role in the criminal justice system.

HealthEd Connect

HealthEd Connect builds on a solid foundation of 20 years of experience with volunteer Community Health Workers who are directly involved with the families and special needs in their villages. Many of these villages are now facing incredible challenges as the number of orphaned children, primarily due to HIV/AIDS, has grown dramatically and the typical surviving caregiver is an aging grandmother who has lost both her husband and children. Going forward, HealthEd Connect will remain flexible and adaptive by connecting villagers and their leaders to expanding visions of possibilities, targeted training, and access to resources.
