New Directions for Women

New Directions for Women (NDFW) was founded, in part, by Pamela Wilder in 1977, with the support and assistance of the Jr. League of Orange County. Pamela stood up in a Jr. League meeting, identified herself as a recovering alcoholic and asked for help and support in establishing a recovery program for women. Two other women, Marion Schoen and Muriel Zink, were also instrumental in New Direction's beginnings. Our luxury treatment facility was created in response to a shortage of affordable and accessible rehabilitation treatment services for women suffering from alcoholism, substance abuse and other chemical dependency problems. For nearly 4 decades, we have expanded to become a internationally recognized, comfortable, luxury, attractive 30-bed residential rehab located in Southern California (CA) in Costa Mesa, near Newport Beach's Back Bay and Nature Preserve. State licensed and certified, our award winning facility touts a very high recovery rate. We accept most insurances and have partial scholarship opportunities available for those who may lack some financial resources.
